Hi! I’m Caroline. I believe in the power of authentic relationships.
I’m an educator & project manager with over 10 years of experience as a professional graphic designer.
From user research to workflow & systems design, I’ve developed a diverse practice in strategic planning for creatives. I’m a professor at Pratt Institute, open water swim instructor & the maker of Caro Matt. My career involves a spectrum of creative solutions for a wide range of clients, including print & digital production management.
My teaching approach centers on dynamic classroom environments that foster critical thinking. I have four years of experience teaching visual design courses at the undergraduate & graduate levels, including user research, service design, branding & systems design. I enjoy the challenge of creating welcoming & inclusive spaces for all levels of learners. Read about that practice here.
A Bachelor’s in Journalism supported my curiosity of the human spirit. In my graduate thesis, I preserved gentrifying neighborhoods with binary audio & locative storytelling. My craft is clay; I create jewelry & housewares that celebrate clay’s tactile likeness to Earth.
Endurance & compassion are my superpowers. I was 1° away from qualifying to swim the English Channel. Write me to collaborate… or ask me about marathon swimming!
